Seasons
Prime trout months are usually mid-March through mid-June. By summer, trout fishing is over and I switch to lessons. Below, you'll see 4-hour trips (during trout season) and 2-hour trips for on-stream lessons. Two hours is enough time to learn the basics of casting, safe wading, insect identification, fly selection, equipment considerations and reading the river. It's important to remember that during the summer trout catching is unlikely. There are other small species that can be caught but trout are unlikely.

Guide Rates

  1 person 4 hours: $300

  2 people 4 hours: $400

  3 people 4 hours: $500

  4 people 4 hours: $600

 

  1 person 2-hour on-stream Intro to fly fishing: $150

  2 people 2-hour on-stream Intro to fly fishing: $250

  3 people 2-hour on-stream Intro to fly fishing: $350

  4 people 2-hour on-stream Intro to fly fishing: $425

 

A Maryland fishing license (7-day, $7.50) and trout stamp ($5) are required on all trips. Any MD Walmart sells licenses or purchase yours online at

Flies and leaders are included on all trips.

 

  Newcomers are my specialty. 95% of my trips are for people who have never fly fished. Some are individuals, some are couples and some are families.
Be prepared to practice catch and release to insure the continued enjoyment of all those who will fish after you.
